Dental Surgery

Modern dentistry is completely focused on preserving teeth.
To make a decision about tooth extraction, a patient requires a thorough examination by a qualified dentist. Incorrect tooth positioning in the oral cavity, previous damage suffered, or neglected dental conditions—all can become reasons for tooth extraction.
Tooth extraction procedures are the most common in the field of surgical dentistry. Today's level of dentistry allows for all operations to be performed with maximum comfort for the patient. There is no need to fear the diagnosed dental condition or the upcoming operation. Anesthesia will help you get rid of the sensation of pain, while an experienced dentist will help prevent future health problems.
Indications for tooth extraction:
-
Severe decay of the crown portion and especially the root part, where it's not possible to save the tooth either through therapy (placing a filling) or with the help of orthopedics (making inlays and crowns).
-
Malpositioned and impacted teeth (teeth that are not in their correct position).
-
Significant tooth wear, protruding teeth that interfere with prosthetics, and/or trauma to adjacent soft tissues (typical for "wisdom teeth").
-
Root fracture as a result of trauma.
-
Difficult access for effective treatment (typical for "wisdom teeth").
-
Impossibility or ineffectiveness of endodontic treatment (root canal treatment).
-
Severe periodontitis.

After tooth extraction, the main recommendations are:
-
Do not eat for 2 hours after tooth extraction.
-
During the day after tooth extraction, refrain from hot, especially from hot liquid foods.
-
Do not apply heat to the cheek in the area of the extracted tooth.
-
Avoid soaking in hot baths or saunas.
-
Clean your teeth the next day after tooth extraction.
-
Try to eat with the teeth on the opposite side of the extracted tooth.
-
Do not touch the socket with your tongue or any other objects.
