Cosmetic Dentistry

It is the restoration of tooth shape, color, and chewing function. Modern aesthetic dentistry is a branch of dentistry that is developing rapidly and is currently the most demanded area in the field of medicine. Aesthetic restoration ensures the correct reproduction of tooth color and other optical properties of the tooth, as well as the modeling of its natural shape. One of the main tasks of the dentist during restoration is the meticulous reproduction of the anatomical structure and shape of the damaged or completely lost tooth hard tissues (enamel and dentin).
To achieve natural aesthetic tooth shape and durability, modern dentistry uses such advanced composite materials as Filtek, Gradia, Voco, etc. Each of these materials has its own characteristics and a wide range of shades to achieve ideal resemblance to the patient's adjacent teeth. Dentists strive to ensure that the restoration is as "compact" as possible, does not stand out in the patient's oral cavity against adjacent teeth and antagonistic teeth, and, of course, meets the aesthetic requirements set for it. When treating teeth with defects in the crown portion, our specialists ensure that the dental restoration is impeccable from an aesthetic point of view, allowing the restored teeth to perform their chewing function well and serve for as long as possible.
The achievements of modern dentistry allow dental restoration to be referred to as artistic restoration, as its results can only be compared to works of art.
A restored tooth is indistinguishable from a natural tooth but is as durable as natural enamel. Artistic restoration can be performed using only photopolymer composites. An important criterion of tooth aesthetics is its shape. The ideal tooth shape is considered to be one that is not subject to natural and pathological wear, with a well-defined cutting edge.
Today, dental restoration significantly differs from standard tooth fillings: while fillings primarily restore the functional properties of the tooth, tooth restoration replaces lost tooth tissues with materials that mimic dentin, enamel, their translucency, and color range.
Thanks to the rapid development of dentistry worldwide, there has recently been an opportunity to use dental restoration even with severely decayed teeth, using modern techniques and methods, such as placing matrices on the damaged tooth, which allows for the ideal reproduction of the restored tooth shape and prevents gaps from forming between the teeth, where cavities could develop in the future.
The expansion of indications for dental restoration allows its use in cases where a few years ago, crowns were the only option. In addition, conservative tooth preparation is used, focused on the defect, unlike cases with crowns, where extensive grinding is performed around the entire perimeter. Only pathologically altered tooth tissues are ground down, leaving even the thinnest walls intact. From being a "weak spot" in the past, it has now become a supporting structure that increases the safety of tooth restoration.
